Terms for Using the Orbion Connect Website and Platform

Who We Are and Acceptance of Terms

Orbion Connect is a trading name of Orbion Connect Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17405473. Its registered office is 26 Myrtle Road, Hounslow, England, TW3 1QD.

By accessing the Orbion Connect website or using any related platform service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use the website or platform. If you use the platform on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that company.

These terms are for business use. By using the platform you confirm that you are acting for a business or professional purpose and not as a consumer.

What Orbion Connect Does

Orbion Connect is an introduction service. We help companies find experts, we let a company invite an expert to discuss a project, and, once the expert accepts and the company pays the unlock fee, we release contact details and help the two of them book an introductory call.

We do not employ, supervise, or recommend experts, and we are not a party to any engagement between a company and an expert. We do not guarantee the quality, suitability, availability, or results of any expert or company, or that any engagement will result from an introduction.

Eligibility and Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account or submitting forms.
• You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for activities carried out through your account.
• You must notify us promptly if you believe your account or login details have been compromised.

Experts

• Using Orbion Connect is free for experts. We never take a share of what an expert earns.
• You must keep your profile accurate. This includes your qualifications, registrations, and experience.
• Companies initially see an anonymised version of your profile. If you accept an invitation, and the company then pays the unlock fee, your name, email address, phone number where provided, and LinkedIn profile are sent to that company. Do not accept an invitation if you are not happy for this to happen.
• You decide whether to accept an invitation, and you agree your own fees, terms, and any non-disclosure or contract directly with the company.
• If you accept an invitation and a company unlocks your details, you are expected to respond to the company and to attend the introductory call you confirm.

Companies and the Unlock Fee

Searching for experts, viewing anonymised profiles, and sending invitations are free. You are charged only when an expert accepts your invitation and you choose to unlock their contact details.

The unlock fee is £149, charged once for each expert you unlock, in pounds sterling. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. The price is shown to you before you pay. The fee is for the release of contact details and for the scheduling tools to book an introductory call. It is not a fee for the expert's services.

Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.

The fee is taken when you confirm payment. Once it is paid, we send you the expert's contact details by email and in your dashboard.

Refunds

If, within 14 days of an unlock, no introductory call has taken place because the expert did not respond or did not attend, we will refund the unlock fee in full on request. To ask for a refund, email support@orbion.uk with the name of the project and the expert, within 30 days of the unlock.

We will also refund the fee where you were charged because of a technical fault, or charged more than once for the same unlock.

We do not refund the fee where an introductory call has taken place, where you have chosen not to take the introduction forward, or where you have not used the contact details released to you. Nothing in this section affects any rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.

Working Together Outside the Platform

After the introduction, a company and an expert deal with each other directly. Any non-disclosure agreement, contract, scope, fee, or payment is agreed and settled between them, not through Orbion Connect, and Orbion Connect has no liability for it.

Orbion Connect does not take a commission on work agreed between a company and an expert. You are responsible for checking that an expert has the skills, registrations, and permissions needed for the work.

Using Contact Details You Receive

• You may use the contact details of a person you were introduced to only to discuss and carry out the project you were introduced for.
• You must not sell, share, publish, or add those details to a marketing list, and you must not use them to send unsolicited marketing.
• You must handle those details in line with data protection law.

Introductory Calls

A company can propose times for an introductory call, and the expert can confirm one. Calls are held by video using a link we create, which is normally a Google Meet link, or a link the expert provides. Orbion Connect does not record calls.

Anything discussed on a call is between the company and the expert. If either side needs a non-disclosure agreement, they should agree one before sharing confidential information.

Platform Use

• You must use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm Orbion Connect, other users, or third parties.
• You must not upload false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or malicious content.
• You must not interfere with the platform, attempt unauthorised access, or use automated means to extract data except where we expressly permit it.
• You must not use the platform to avoid paying the unlock fee, for example by passing on or collecting an expert's details outside the platform to avoid paying.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where we reasonably believe a user has breached these terms, created security risk, acted unlawfully, or misused the platform. You can close your account at any time by emailing support@orbion.uk.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, Orbion Connect provides the website and platform on an "as available" basis and excludes implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss of data, and we are not liable for anything an expert or company does or fails to do.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with the platform in any 12-month period is limited to the unlock fees you paid us in that period.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version published on this website will apply from the date it is posted unless stated otherwise. A change to the unlock fee will not affect an unlock you have already paid for.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England.

The courts in England will have jurisdiction except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
